Florida Panthers vs. Chicago Blackhawks: Hockey has returned
Lately the focus has been on Covid-19 and the importance of wearing a mask to stay protected from this deadly virus. The hockey season has returned giving fans something else pay attention to. Sunday night Florida Panthers overpowered Chicago Blackhawks 5–2 giving fans to look forward to the rest of the season.
Florida Panthers kicked off the game as Aaron Ekblad scoring the first goal in the second period. Keith Yandle made it 2–0 taking control of a loose puck close to the boards. The defenseman talks about the moment on nhl.com:
“I mean, obviously, just for me, it was just being ready to go and just waiting for my time to get the chance. And I think scoring that goal kind of helped solidify the work that I put in and being ready to go, and I think a lot of it was seeing the guys, seeing their reaction to it and getting real fired up for me.”
Alex DeBrincat put Blackhawks on the board as he one-timed Yandle’s pass from the face-off circle. During the third period, Connor Murphy tied the game 2–2 then Eetu Luostarinen scored his first NHL goal and made it 3–2.
Patric Hornqvist increased the cats score 4–2 as he shot the puck from the right boards then went off Calvin de Haan’s hockey stick. Left Winger Jonathan Huberdeau scored the power-play game winning goal 5–2.
Blackhawks head coach Jeremy Colliton talks about the team’s performance on nhl.com:
“We had some good pushes. I just feel we didn’t play well enough, we weren’t clean enough with the puck, we weren’t sharp enough in little situations that make a difference in the game.”
