Christina Aguilera’s New Album Liberation

Christina Aguilera is back! Next Friday the singer’s new album Liberation will be put on store shelves. In a Billboard interview Aguilera shares that the album is created with the sound mixture of hip-hop and R&B:

“To me, there’s nothing like an amazing hip-hop beat,” the singer said. “At the end of the day, I am a soul singer. When you strip back the words ‘pop star’ and the many things that I’ve done, singing soulfully is where my core, my root and my heart really is. And as you can see, it’s what I’m inspired by.”

Last month the singer released her first single off the album entitled Accelerate. Kanye West produced the track and it also features Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz. Aguilera also collaborated with other artists such as Demi Lovato and Pink. On ok.co.uk, the pop star’s fans have mixed emotions about Accelerate. Some hated it and others loved it:

“Can someone please explain Christina’s new song to me? Like, was there a chorus hidden in there that I missed?” one follower asked.

“Do yourself a favor, and don’t listen to that Christina Aguilera & Ty Dolla $ign record,” another wrote.

“Christ this song is atrocious,” a third said.

“The minimalism allows her voice to shine without relying on her usual vocal acrobatics. I love it when she’s experimental & goes left-field,” said another.
